Since early 2017, Forest Design has served as the Center for Plant Conservation’s outsourced marketing and IT department and provides extensive services and strategy as needed. This includes creating a monthly digital newsletter to feature prominently on the saveplants.org website – which we then widely promote through email and social media; creating Annual Reports for 2017 and 2018; developing print and digital collateral for their mid-year and end-of-year donation campaigns; 35th anniversary branding; network handbooks; website updates and maintenance; and large screen presentations. We work closely with the CPC team to help strategize creative ways to spread the word about the importance of plant conservation.
Forest Design also contributed key technical information to assist CPC in obtaining a $491,000 National Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to create Plant Nucleus, a real-time learning platform. We then designed and developed Plant Nucleus, a web-based community platform that allows experienced plant scientists and beginning conservationists alike to understand and exchange conservation techniques in real time. Plant Nucleus is built around the guide book CPC Best Plant Conservation Practices to Support Species Survival in the Wild and integrates forums, videos, photo galleries and community conversation. Using Plant Nucleus, conservationists are much better equipped to save more plants.
